Generated shots, explained

Sometimes the shot you need isn’t in your camera roll. The drone view you didn’t take, the opening title over a sunrise. That’s what generated shots are for.

What it is

Describe a shot and Shotz makes it on one of the video or image models, then drops it on your timeline next to your real footage. Generated shots are labelled in your library, so you always know which is which.

What it costs

The editor is free. Generating uses credits, and you see the cost before you press go. Free accounts start with 50 credits. Pro is $29 a month with 2,500, and Team is $99 a month with 10,000 for up to five people. If a generation fails, the credits come back.

DoFill a gap: the establishing shot you missed.
Don’tReplace the real moments people were there for.

When to use one

Use them for the in-between: titles, transitions, the wide shot that sets the scene. Keep the people and the moments real. That’s what makes it your video.
